Greek National Robotics Team

Welcome!

MEET THE TEAM

Anastasios Kollias

Coach
Anastasios Kollias was born in Athens. He works as a teacher in Primary Education and holds Ph.D. and M.Ed. (Master in Education) of the University of Athens in the field of Information Technology & Education. He supervised the pilot program for the introduction of computers in Primary Education ("ODYSSEIA - The Island of Phaeacians"), took part in various teachers and parents national ICT training programs as a trainer, co-authored the Math books used in Grade B & E in Greek public schools, as well as other educational books & software applications. He has published the digitalgames.edu.gr website and he is a member of Mathisis.org (FLL Athens Regional Partner). In 2016, he received a "coach-mentor" award in the FIRST LEGO League Greece educational robotics competition. He has also studied music (LCM / RGT / PMT) and works as a music tutor.

Dimitris Tsatrafilis

Technical Advisor
Dimitris Tsatrafilis was born in Ioannina. His love for Engineering lead him obtain his bachelor in Electronics and Electrical Engineering, as well as in Economics and Administration. He works as technical advisor in large companies, but spends most of his time doing what he loves most: building stuff! His skills stretch from electronics to robotics, 3d printing, hydraulic systems, wood works, iron constructions, welding and too many others to mention here. You want to build something? Anything? He will do it! He was awarded twice at Athens mini Maker Faire and he is a member of the international communities Ardupirates, Inmoov and FLL Greece. He has his own lab - robotlab.gr where he constantly adresses new challenges along with his daughter Eirini and son Aggelos."

Nefeli Tzavara

Mentor
Nefeli was born in Ioannina. She is 18 years old and has been studying in Athens at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the NTUA (National & Technical University of Athens). She is interested in robotics and coding, as her field of study suggests, and in the future she would like to address them as well as their applications in biomedical science. She loves team spirit and meeting people with the same interests. Having participated as a referee at Fll and volunteer at Fll jr she really enjoyed the atmosphere of the event and the people involved.

Dimitra Georgakopoulos

Member
Dimitra is a second-year student at 1st High School of Voula. She is interested in Robotics, Dancing and Playacting. She likes Robotics because it combines engineering, programming and construction. When she grows up, she wants to become an architect or engineer. Programming and robotics is something newer to her than construction. Being part of Team Greece is a tremendous opportunity for her to do what she loves (robotics) and exchange experiences and high-level knowledge with others.

Vasilis Gizas

Member
Vasilis is a second-year student at 1st High School of Gerakas. He likes building things with different materials, he fancies robotic constructions, he likes music and handball. Robotics fascinate him; his goal is to continue and make robotics his profession and hobby. Participating in FIRST Global Team Greece, will help him expand his knowledge, improve his skills and engage in new ideas. He believes that the renewable energy project will provide solutions that will help all of us for a better future.

Apostolos Kapousouzis

Member
Apostolos is a third-year student at the 1st General Lyceum of Xanthi. He is passionate about construction since he was young and he always kept in mind that this love can be translated into more thorough work. Participating in various competitions, his manufacturing skills improved dramatically. He is also regarded top level at handling the robot, having developed the ideal relationship between himself and the particular controller because of the video games and the other robots he has used.

George Koiliarakis

Member
George is first-year student at High School ''Delasalle''. He has an interest on technology and automation and wants to show the world the things he is capable of doing. He also wants to participate in a team and cooperate with other people to create Robotics and succeed through the things they would develop, to show the world something different from what already exists. He feels excited having the opportunity to work with the FGC team.

George Leon

Member
George is a third-year student at 1st Lyceum of Voula. George's engaging in robotics has begun in a very young age. Both immense childhood curiosity and absolute satisfaction with creativity have prompted him to work for hours on how to build a machine that will do what he asks and do it as efficiently as possible. He believes robotics is the science of the future! FIRST Global challenge is a giant step in the direction of his dream becoming a reality!

Michail Marinakis

Member
Michael is a second-year student at Vouliagmeni's High School. As a student, he is passionate, he displays great adaptability, organization skills, respect and dedication to the principles and goals of the team. He contributes to the design, development and implementation of the entire Project; he possesses high level of knowledge of robotics, presentation skills, software design, image editing software, designing and creating web pages.

Eirini Tsatrafilli

Member
Εirini is 16 years old. She loves physics, biology, chemistry and her goal is to be enrolled in a University of Biology. Eirini, her father & her brother have built a humanoid, natural-dimensional, completely 3D-printed, full functional robot that they often present to schools and educational institutions. She is excited to take part in the First Global Challenge because it would be a great experience, she will get the chance to spent her summer learning new things and advancing her knowledge in robotics, meet new people and collaborate.

Menelaos Raptis
