We learn coding in a playful and artistic way.

Coding is emerging in the information age as one of the most important skills that everyone should have.

At Eduact we are responding to this need and helping young interested people to start their exploration in the world of computers.

Coding Learning Workshops

In CODING WORKSHOPS we learn and explore the basics of programming in a fun and experiential way. We practice our logic, creativity, algorithmic as well as analytical thinking. We learn how to tackle and solve programming problems. Furthermore, we create and share our projects in the Scratch community in order to pass on to the Python programming environment and programming language. We improve our teamwork skills and understand the value and importance of coding. We gain the necessary experience to enter the world of computing powerfully and continue our journey

Each cycle consists of 24 workshops of 2 teaching hours each, once a week.

python scratch
5th, 6th grade of Primary School & 1st grade of High School

Through unique activities and weekly challenges, children become familiar with the Scratch programming environment. They are gradually introduced to the world of programming and computers while gaining skills necessary for the future. Gradually, all this knowledge is transferred to the Python environment, which is more complex and demanding. Thus, in a short period of time the participants will have learned and tested two different programming environments and gained relevant experience.

1st, 2nd, 3rd grade of High School

A deeper engagement with programming through the Python programming language. Learning, proper use and application of basic programming structures through many fun examples. Children learn to create and implement programs in robotic devices such as LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3. The themes are drawn from everyday life and the children's favorite computer games!

What is Minecraft: Education Edition?

It is a game-based learning platform that promotes creativity, collaboration and problem solving in an exciting digital environment where the only limitation is your imagination. Through project-based lessons, students cultivate important 21st century skills such as creative problem solving and digital citizenship.

Minecraft: Education Edition helps students prepare for future careers by cultivating skills such as critical thinking. The open learning environment gives students the freedom to experiment, encouraging creative expression and problem solving.

10 years old and over

The favorite game of young and old now comes to help us learn to code! From computer science to mixed reality, Minecraft: Education Edition offers endless opportunities for exploration, storytelling and digital learning.

'We owe it to our students to bring their passion into the classroom.’
-Chris Aviles, Fairhaven Schools, New Jersey

The program is for girls and boys 10 years old and older from across the country. Distance education classes in cycles of eight (8) workshops, two (2) hours of instruction, once a week.

The artwork was created in the framework of Erasmus+ and the Εuropean Solidarity Corps programme in which Eduact has the pleasure to participate in, yearly. .

Workshops Coding – F.A.Q.

Code is the necessary commands/instructions written in computer language, which is contained in every program. Coding is the process of writing code.
We follow Eduact workshop plans (using Scratch and Python as tools) that aim to make the basic programming concepts and computer science more accessible to the children. We learn through play and art the basic knowledge of computers and especially programming.
We use Scratch. This is a language made especially for educational cause. It is easy to learn and use but at the same time it is powerful and flexible. The commands are brick-shaped, they can drag and drop and they stick with each other. This computer language provides an excellent visual way of familiarity with coding and it is easy to use.
No. All it takes is a basic familiarization of the children with computers and technology.
There are two classes. One for children who attend 4th, 5th and 6th class of primary school (Scratch meets Python) and one for children who attend high school (Python meets reality)
Coding workshops are finished after 24 sessions
It lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes
Someone who has finished a whole circle of workshops knows the basics of coding. The most important thing is that he/she has enough experience to experiment and discover new things alone. He/ She can also create a whole Scratch project by himself/herself.
Coding workshops mean to educate children so they can learn by themselves! Coding workshops provide basic knowledge and at the same time they act as an underlay for more advanced subjects. Furthermore, the prime purpose of coding workshops is to encourage children to explore by themselves this new science and to inspire them to create their own programs. The coding workshops give children the basic knowledge and experience so they can carry on by themselves the programming wandering. The children who participate in the workshops work in small groups following a specifically designed for their age series of workshops. Each series finishes in 24 meetings and each meeting lasts 1hour and 30 minutes. There are workshops series for children who are beginners or for children who have already participated in previous workshops.

The children who participate work in small groups following a group workshop cycle specially designed for their age which is completed in 24 sessions of one teaching hour each. Workshop cycles for children who are just starting out or who have participated in a previous workshop cycle
