The Open International FIRST LEGO League Greece is a fact!
“The top 200 student teams from all around the world compete for the first time in Greece , in 2021.”
The top 200 student teams from all around the world will represent their countries at the ‘Open International FIRST LEGO League Greece’ on June 24-27, 2021. The competition will be run by Eduact in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs, FIRST and LEGO Education, under the auspices of the National Committee ‘Greece 2021’.
FIRST® LEGO® League, is a program certified by the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs (172915/2020) that introduces science, technology, mechanics and mathematics (STEM) to children ages 9-16, through entertaining and exciting experiential learning.
The theme for the 2020-2021 school year (Game Changers) is Sports, with the participation of more than 679.000 students in 3.700 official events of 115 countries worldwide.
On 24/06/2021 the Open International FLL Greece will welcome to its closing ceremony the 2000 students and coaches of the 200 teams that will be participating in the competition, thus symbolically paying tribute to the 200 years of Greek independence.
The distribution of available positions for each country will follow the olympic model, so that it is possible to achieve the maximum level of representation of more than 110 countries from all over Europe, America and all of the 50 states of the US, Asia, Africa and Australia - of course including 15 teams from the hosting country, Greece.
The competition will be supported by acclaimed international judges and volunteers from all around the globe. The teams will compete virtually under hybrid conditions, combining synchronous and asynchronous procedures, so as to present their work on the Innovation Project, the Robot design & Robot Game, as well as the Core Values category.
During the Global League, teams and audience alike will be able to watch live results, video presentations of the progress and efforts of each team, interviews, speeches of honorary guests and theme nights with activities.
On 27/6/2021 this celebration of knowledge and innovation will be wrapped up in a brilliant closing ceremony with lots of thrilling surprises for both younger and older participants !
