The University of Thessaly (EADP), the non-profit educational non-profit association Eduact – Action for Education, the Municipality of Trikkaion (Department of Education) and PEKES Thessaly, invite teachers of Primary and Secondary Education to the Scientific Workshop on “Educational Robotics, Research and Innovation Actions with Primary and Secondary School Children in Modern Greek School”. The event will take place on Monday 25 October 2021 at 18:00-21:00 at the Tsitsanis Museum in Trikala.

The aim of the event is to inform teachers and teachers of Primary and Secondary education (all specialties) on issues related to the introduction of Educational Robotics and Design thinking practices in the daily life of schools.

In addition, in view of the organization of the Regional Competition of Thessaly next February in Volos, under the responsibility of the University of Thessaly in collaboration with Eduact, this year’s educational robotics, research and innovation competition FIRST® LEGO® League: CARGOTM CONNECT will be presented to the participating teachers. FLL has already been running for 23 years in more than 110 countries, involves children aged 9 to 16 years old and is aimed at strengthening not strictly technological but also cross-cutting skills.

Extensive information will also be provided on the “Robotics & STEAM FLL” programme, whose pilot implementation and training of more than 140 teachers in public schools has been successfully completed and whose general implementation in the framework of the Skills Workshops of every school in the country has now been approved. Finally, during the main part of the event, teachers will have the opportunity to learn about the programme and get familiar with the robotics kits and kits in an open, hands-on workshop with the help of experienced trainers.
