"Completion of the FIRST® LEGO® League Regional Educational Robotics Competition of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace in Xanthi and qualification to the Greek Final"
The FIRST® LEGO® League of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Regional Robotics Competition was successfully held on Saturday 4 March in Xanthi, an event organized by Eduact in cooperation with Xanthi TechLab and the Cultural Centre of the Municipality of Xanthi, under the auspices of the Ministry of Development and Investment and the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace.
A total of 18 teams with 180 students and coaches participated in the competition. Having energy as this year's theme, how energy is distributed, stored and used, the participants are building an innovative and better energy future. A significant contribution was made by the local community volunteers who numbered over 25 and participated as judges, referees and chaperones for the teams.
The Regional Competition of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace is one of the eight regional competitions held this year in Greece. A total of 30% of the teams will secure their qualification to the final of the FIRST® LEGO® League Greece, which will take place on 18 and 19 March in Thessaloniki.
The teams that have qualified for the FIRST® LEGO® League GREECE FINAL in the CHALLENGE category are C3005 Robofrogs, C3017 RoboGamers, C3079 LetsGo, C3124 Robomechanics, C3126 RoboGenius.
Mr. Manolis Fanourakis, Deputy Mayor of Xanthi, Mr. Elias Askaridis, President of the Cultural Centre of the Municipality of Xanthi and Mr. Dimitris Giannakoudis, Coordinator of Xánthi TechLab, announced the qualifiers of the Competition and congratulated all the contestants. The Mayor of Xanthi Mr. Manolis Tsepelis attended the competition and was informed about the innovative solutions of the teams.
