With the support of Eduact, the organization of the Scientific Esperida on “Educational Robotics, Research and Innovation Actions with Primary and Secondary School Children in Modern Greek School” of the University of Thessaly under the auspices of the Municipality of Trikkaion (Department of Education) and the PEKES Thessaly was successfully completed.
More specifically, on Monday 25 October 2021, Primary and Secondary Education teachers attended an information session at the Tsitsanis Museum in Trikala on issues related to the introduction of Educational Robotics and Design thinking practices in the daily life of schools.
At the same time, Eduact presented this year’s educational robotics, research and innovation competition FIRST® LEGO® League: CARGO CONNECT. Eduact is the exclusive Program Delivery Partner of FIRST® in Greece and the Balkans, while FLL has already been running for 23 years in more than 110 countries around the world. The competition is aimed at children aged 4 to 16 years old and its focus is on strengthening not strictly technological but also horizontal skills.
There was also an update on Eduact’s program “Robotics & STEAM FLL” whose pilot implementation was successfully completed for the academic year 2020-2021 with the training of more than 140 teachers in public schools in the country. Now, the Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs and the Institute of Educational Policy have approved the general implementation of the programme within the Skills Workshops of every school in the country.
During the event, teachers will have the opportunity to get acquainted with these two programmes of the Agency, to familiarize themselves with the educational robotics kits and to learn about innovative teaching practices in an open experiential workshop with the help of experienced trainers in the field.
